Recent Works

Last Friday was Labors
Day, a public holiday, a
celebration for those
who consider
themselves laborers.

I'm not included because
I'm on holiday all year
round.

I never consider painting
as working. It's my
pleasure, obsession,
addiction...

Many of my earlier works had
become history. Rumah rakit
(house on bamboo raft), once
synonym to Kelantan, allocated
in a long row along Kelantan
River at Kota Bharu
town. It was a tourist attraction
and a favorite fishing spot.

I was once a fishing addict too.
Why not? Two river shrimps(?)
(udang galah) could make up a
kilogram. My friend Ong Chin
Kim used to teach me how to
catch them with bare hands. First allured them to come out from
their hidings (bamboo hollows) with worms, then snatched their
antennas(?). Now its all memories...

A note from the editor Watercolor Artist Magazine US yesterday confirmed that I'm the only
Malaysian artist featured in the magazine while Singapore, two ie Mr Ong Kim Seng and Mr Ng Woon Lam. I appreciate both in their works and achievements.

I last met Mr Ong at Invitational
Exhibition of Contemporary
International Watermedia Masters
2007 in Nanjing, China.

I hope more Malaysian artists will have the chance likewise.
